Naeem Ashraf was born in Azad Kashmir - Pakistan. Since three decades Ashraf has been a keen reader of all genres of literature. After his retirement in 2014, he started writing book reviews, articles and essays in national dailies. His flair for reading and writing led him to choose a comparatively hard path of writing - Fiction Translation. His first short story book Trespass was published by Sang e Meel Publications –Lahore in 2016. The book contains 29 translated stories of renowned story writer; Muhammad Ilyas. Naeem’s second English translation was Khurram Baqa’s recent story book: Cliché. It contains English translation of 27 Urdu Afsanas. His third anthology “The Unforgettable Pakistani Short Stories” is under publication. The book contains 33 translated short stories of modern story writers of Pakistan. He also  has to his credit the Urdu translation of Elif Shafak's famous novel The Forty Rules of Love.
